Note android 4.3 is still called jelly bean and now:
Hello all of you zoners, I am going to write a review of android 4.3 so those who are thinking about getting a nexis7, nexis10m nexis4 or rooting and installing a custom rom running 4.3 can have a clear picture of what your getting yourself in to. Lets start with performance, 4.2 brought to the table stability improvements when opening apps, better web views that did not hang as much as 4.1 and magnification jesters for low vision users. There also was tweaks under the hood but lets move on. Now, 4.3 brings incredible speed enhancements, almost no lag time when opening the app tray, for those who do not use android the app tray is where all your apps get installed to when you install or your carrier has there bloat wear apps installed too. In a fect its could be reverenced as the all program folder if you need an example via windows. So lets get to what those who are blind or visually impaired look for in every android release. What is new in accessibility? Well you now have extra speed settings there now are bout 6 settings starting with very slow, slow, fast, faster, rapid for the text to speech. As most of you know talkback is not totally integrated like voiceover is in the OS so it is updated independently of android itself, so with that said here is what has changed in the talkback soon to be released to the play store. Labeling buttons has finely come to android 4.3, you can now label and edit a label if you did not like what you wrote the fester time when encountering a unlabeled button that can be found in most android apps. Also, the granularity or for some “the method in which talkback reads back the screen IE Char, Sentence, Line, word and page.” Are now in a menu. The menu looks like a circle when you draw talkbacks local context jester right and up. Also for those who have kids you now can restrict your child to parts of the android OS so he or she does not go and mess up your settings like say talkback!. I am running a custom rom with 4.3 on a US t-mobile galaxy S3 at the time of this review. Technically this device is not running 4m3 its still at 4.1.2 and waiting for its 4.3 release when the upgrade happens is any ones guess Samsung has not said either way.
I am sorry one other feature I for got to add here, web scripts have finally been intagrated into talkback and you no longer have to enable them so you can use the Chrom vox extention to read web views in apps that have this particular design. Android has a lots of apps that use the web views to display articles and etc.
So its coming close to a month, Kitcat android 4.4 is coming soon and I have been running android 4.3 jelly bean on my galaxy S3. So you ask what is different then 4.2 of android? Well 4.3 runs quite smoothly and by all purpose seem to run faster then 4.2. Also, I can use my volume keys to edit text on my S3. When doing agnle gesters that are alkback related they seem to execute flalisly verses 4.2 some times the wrong move can have you at the end or top of the screen. As I said, or hinted to, the nvagation levels or granulatery is in a series of menus and cycles. Tose who used eyes-free shell know what I am getting at; Its the same consept but its broken up. Picture voiceover's rotter but split apart that is how talkback has its gesters set up now. I am soon to do a podcast on android 4.3 and 4.4 after XDA Developers port it over to my phone.
